Description: SCP-9133 is a beach ball, possessing a low density. Despite this, the object is negatively buoyant.
SCP-9133-A is SCP-9133's reflection. SCP-9133-A frequently desynchronizes in water, ranging from being latent in its movements to performing incorrect actions entirely.

BACKGROUND
SCP-9133 was first recovered from the pool of a resort hotel in ██████, California. SCP-9133 alongside other anomalies were planned to be shipped to Site-12 via maritime transport. Unfortunately, the MV Jodi became shipwrecked; SCP-9133 was not accounted for.
On 01/01/20██, civilian oceanographers encountered SCP-9133 residing within the Marianas Trench — specifically, the Challenger Deep. Following amnesticization protocols, SCP-9133 was reacquired through the use of an AUV. Upon successful retrieval, Foundation assets witnessed SCP-9133-A's first recorded desynchronization in the water's surface. This prompted SCP-9133's reassessment.
REASSESSMENT #: 01
Attribute: Buoyancy remained consistent regardless of salinity.
Deviation: SCP-9133 deviated when placed in water possessing a salinity of 35 g/L or higher. Following SCP-9133's removal, SCP-9133-A remained in the water for 2 hours before resynchronizing.
Notes: Dr. Joxal was perplexed, citing the lack of a catalyst for this behavior.
REASSESSMENT #: 02
Attribute: SCP-9133 was not capable of advanced locomotion.
Deviation: Once submerged, SCP-9133 always gravitated towards the pool's deep end. SCP-9133-A remained on the water's surface, spinning in place.
Notes: Dr. Joxal reviewed all documentation regarding SCP-9133's background.
REASSESSMENT #: 03
Attribute: Identical to Reassessment 02.
Deviation: SCP-9133 was submerged within various areas of the ocean and monitored. Empirical positioning data indicates the object universally translocates towards the Marianas Trench.

Dr. Joxal: [Sigh] Alright. The hard way then.
[Dr. Joxal reaches into the tub, pulling out and grasping onto SCP-9133.]
Dr. Joxal: Look. You're gonna give me something I can work with or I can just lock you in the box forever. I'm perfectly fine either way.
[No response.]
Dr. Joxal: I'm not joking. Last chance.
[Dr. Joxal sets SCP-9133 into the water; it sinks. There is no further response.]
Dr. Joxal: [Whisper] <indecipherable> damn trench.
[Dr. Joxel prepares to leave when SCP-9133 abruptly floats in the tub. He freezes in place before sitting back in the chair again.]
Dr. Joxal: The trench… the Marianas one, right?
[SCP-9133 resumes floating.]
Dr. Joxal: No. What if it's not? What if—
[SCP-9133 sinks; Dr. Jones is silent.]
Dr. Joxal: …Yes Marianas Trench.
[SCP-9133 floats.]
Dr. Joxal: No Marianas Trench.

[SCP-9133 continues floating; Dr. Joxal quickly writes notes.]
Dr. Joxal: Of course, you realize we're not gonna throw you back in there, right?
[SCP-9133 sinks; Dr. Joxal chuckles.]
Dr. Joxal: Hey, it's the rules.
[No response.]
Dr. Joxal: Secure. Contain. Protect — it's literally in our motto.
[No response.]
Dr. Joxal: But as long as you do as I say… I'm sure we can work something out. We have a pool~.
[No response. Dr. Joxal frowns; he leans forward.]
Dr. Joxal: Alright, this little silent treatment is starting to wear pretty thin—
[SCP-9133 propelled itself out of the water, striking Dr. Joxal's face. Startled, he inadvertently tips the chair over backwards, slightly injuring himself.]
[SCP-9133 slowly sinks back into the water. Dr. Joxal gets up; his eye is visibly twitching.]

Afterword: On conclusion of Reassessment 04, Dr. Joxal sought to establish potential variables that could affect the object's buoyancy.
TEST #: 01
Variable: Deflation.
Results: SCP-9133 sank; SCP-9133-A inflated itself enormously.
Notes: Following manual reinflation, Dr. Joxal found SCP-9133's inflation valve was unable to be accessed again; the object was now incapable of losing air, even through natural effusion.
TEST #: 02
Variable: Ratchet straps.
Results: SCP-9133 sunk; SCP-9133-A breached its restraints by thrashing itself repeatedly.
Notes: Dr. Joxal discovered SCP-9133 was now incompressible following the experiment.
TEST #: 03
Variable: Coffee.
Results: SCP-9133 sank, before quickly becoming positively buoyant. SCP-9133-A constantly vibrated; it resynchronized once the object was removed from the tub.
Notes: Dr. Joxal modified experiment parameters.
SUBMERSION #: 01
Item: Paint.
Results: SCP-9133 rapidly became positively buoyant; SCP-9133-A spun with circular motion. SCP-9133 soon resynchronized with SCP-9133-A's movements.
Notes: This behaviour only occurred with water-based paints.
SUBMERSION #: 02
Item: Washer fluid.
Results: SCP-9133 forcibly ejected itself from the tub. SCP-9133-A was observed thrashing widely.
Notes: The tub was later supplied with a support net.
SUBMERSION #: 03
Item: Hot sauce.
Results: SCP-9133 immediately drifted to the tub's rim. SCP-9133-A was observed exiting the tub prematurely.
Notes: The object's extreme positive buoyancy rendered manual submersion infeasible.
SUBMERSION #: 04
Item: Milk.
Results: SCP-9133 interacted with the liquid as if it were a solid. SCP-9133-A was observed distancing itself from the tub; it appeared to be floating in midair.
Notes: Dr. Joxal theorizes SCP-9133's hydrophobicity was possibly due to the item's "rancidity."
SUBMERSION #: 05
Item: Liquid manure.
Results: SCP-9133 was strapped to the tub's basin. Once submerged, SCP-9133-A was observed thrashing violently, rapidly contorting itself in a wide variety of shapes. Halfway through testing, SCP-9133-A suddenly faced one of its end panels towards Dr. Joxal before entirely dissipating.

INCIDENT-9133-ALPHA
Following Submersion 05, SCP-9133 lost its buoyancy-based properties; additionally, SCP-9133-A no longer appeared near the object. Shortly after, multiple Foundation personnel had witnessed SCP-9133-A manifesting in their presence before vanishing. Attached below is an abridged list of recorded sightings:
Location: Houston, Texas.
Description: While consuming coffee, Dr. Heron spotted SCP-9133-A within her drink. Startled, she spilled the contents on herself, inadvertently burning herself.
Notes: Notably, Dr. Heron originally suggested the test item for Test 03.
Location: Pacific Ocean.
Description: Foundation assets confirmed SCP-9133-A routinely manifested within the Pacific Ocean, specifically near the Marianas Trench. A research vessel was stationed on site for observation purposes.
Notes: N/A.
Location: I-90, United States of America.
Description: While carpooling Dr. Joxal, Dr. Eaton encountered SCP-9133-A during activation of the windshield wipers. This caused Dr. Eaton to become distracted and crash his vehicle.
Notes: Notably, Dr. Eaton originally suggested the test item for Submersion 02.
Location: Pacific Ocean.
Description: A Scranton Reality Anchor was deployed and activated on location. SCP-9133-A promptly demanifested and was reported not to have remanifested in the Pacific Ocean.
Notes: Dr. Joxal's request for a portable SRA was approved.
INCIDENT-9133-BETA
The research vessel tasked with monitoring SCP-9133-A had failed to respond to a routine radio check. Investigation revealed the vessel sank was shipwrecked under inexplicable circumstances. Upon learning this, Research staff attempted to inform Dr. Joxal.
Location: Site-46.
Description: Researchers found Dr. Joxal with his head inside one of the restroom's toilets. Dr. Joxal was removed from the receptacle; SCP-9133 was observed in the toilet bowl water before demanifesting.
Notes: Dr. Joxal was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy revealed he had succumbed to drowning; water and trace amounts of human excreta were present in the respiratory tract.
Location: Various Foundation facilities.
Description: SCP-9133-A sightings have increased by a massive statistical margin.
Notes: Coincidentally, these facilities had a sharp increase in plumbing issues; cases involving personnel being afflicted with severe vertigo and/or cerebrovascular accidents also increased.
Location: Yellowstone National Park.
Description: SCP-9133-A was observed manifesting in this location at progressive intervals.

MEMORANDUM
SCP-9133 was intentionally deployed into the Pacific Ocean. Not only did SCP-9133-A immediately resynchronize with SCP-9133, the object regained negative buoyancy, subsequently sinking into the water; all complications associated with SCP-9133-A ceased.
SCP-9133 was reclassified Archon until a more permanent solution is found. Updated protocols mandate remote monitoring within Challenger Deep; unauthorized civilian observers require amnesticization. Procedures will be finalized within 96 hours.
INCIDENT-9133-CHARLIE
A research vessel was monitoring SCP-9133. Personnel reported SCP-9133-A had manifested around the watercraft while debating the necessity of the object's containment procedures. SCP-9133-A instantly demanifested upon termination of the conversation topic. Further containment procedure amendments are pending.
