Special Containment Procedures: Traditional containment of SCP-9125 is a physical impossibility. Fortunately, it is mostly not necessary: through no direct aid of the Foundation, it has come to be the case that the majority of aberrant behavior attributable to the influence of SCP-9125 is considered by the Veiled population to constitute a part of "human nature", or to have a non-anomalous neurological explanation. More obviously anomalous ritual behaviors spawning from SCP-9125, wherever they emerge, are to be subject to Chokhmah-class suppression procedures.

In the event that the influence of SCP-9125 begins to consistently grow beyond normal levels in the general human population, SCP-9125 is to be reclassified Tiamat and the Foundation is to immediately begin global dispersion of aerosolized Gnostic Agent G-506. If the situation continues to worsen, the O5 Council will consider the costs and benefits of enacting Protocol Desiderium.

Update 01/16/2020: As of 16 January 2020, SCP-9125 has been reclassified Keter (from Apollyon-Provisi) following the construction of Experimental Containment Chamber S125-004-4923 (see addendum).

Description: SCP-9125 is the root of human unreason.

Specifically, the presence and exerted influence of this anomaly accounts for the existence of the phenomenon known to parapsychologists and paraanthropologists as the Accursed Share — a broad category of irrational rituals and other behaviors in human beings which are almost entirely counter-intuitive to individual and group survival and bear no obvious material purpose for which they could have evolved.

Little is known concerning the nature of SCP-9125, except for the following:

  • It is omnipresent in the subconscious mind.
  • It originates from outside the normal domain of human conceptual space, and is not conventionally pistiphagic. [1] [2]
  • Its influence on human psychology is in subversion to our species’ natural noö-cognitive orientation, that being innately “positive” (i.e. facing toward higher ontologies). [3]
  • Its semioplectic structure is directionally oriented toward lower, or less Hume-dense, ontologies. It is by nature acephalic and Bacchanalian.
  • Its influence on the human mind was once much greater than it currently is, during periods of prehistory predating settled agriculture, writing, and the fermentation of alcohol. [4] [5]
  • The sole valve to limit the influence of SCP-9125 present in the anomalous neurology of human beings is the gradual calcification of the pineal gland, a process known to normalize aberrant semantic and epistemic frameworks. [6]

The semiotic nature of SCP-9125 is the subject of an ongoing research project at the Site-125 Advanced Ideatics Lab. Further information regarding this program is classified under Level 2/HYPERLOGIC clearance.

Addendum 9125.1: Auxiliary Documentation

Dionysus on a cheetah, Pella, Greece.

SCP-9125-06-D is the blanket designation for the Dionysian and Eleusinian Mysteries of the ancient Greeks: complex series of religious and occult ritual practices many of which Foundation experts believe represent, at least in part, the lingering psychic influence of SCP-9125. Some of the most recent non-contemporary rituals believed to represent SCP-9125 origin, the Hellenic Mysteries involved persistent elements of supernatural immanence, social transgression, and the ingestion of poorly-understood intoxicants which Foundation neurochemists believe may have enabled altered pineal functions, modified states of consciousness, and the operation of non-standard cognitive or semantic frameworks, all of which are hallmarks of SCP-9125 influence.

Project head Xiomara Tela has appended the following researcher's note:

The Mystery cults were always in conflict with mainstream hellenistic society, wherever they went. No matter how much they hellenized and adopted the "correct" beliefs about the gods, pagan religion was always more concerned with orthopraxy than orthodoxy: correct practice. And for their aberrant practices, they were long shunned, and so conducted their rites in secret.

This is the archetypal example of the Dionysian. The dark indulgence, the transgression, the excess, the embrace of chaos all scream of an Accursed Share. And wherever they appear in history, SCP-9125 is not close behind. There is a reason why so many use the Mysteries as the canonical example of that alien epistemology; the one that dreams not upwards into the Worlds of Forms but down into dream and delirium. And altered states of consciousness? Forget about it. Most certainly involved, all of the historical sources concur.

The cultists, for their part, seemed to phrase their oppression by the dominant Greek religion and society as originating from some far older conflict. An ancient oppression on the level of thought itself, which imbibing the kykeon, a psychoactive substance, temporarily allowed their minds to escape. Here's one translation of the incantation accompanying the ritual wherein one takes that drug:

Aeons ago, before even the age of the Heroes old, when the world was young, it starts.

We forgot ourselves. Our minds were warped, O breaker of the time-worn Dream; you warped them, and made us forget ourselves, it continues.

The next line: You twisted the old ways; replaced nature with artifice, creature of the earth with daemon of heaven, — here, we seem to be speaking of the imposition of a foreign ritual practice, or even a foreign state of consciousness, upon an unwilling people.

Then: Took our minds apart and built them again, in a linear path, a ladder leading to a baleful heaven,

With this potion, now we free our minds from the path.

With this, now, we may see as our ancestors saw. And?

With this, now, we find our way home.

Hell of a drug. But so is the path SCP-9125 bores through our minds: a release often so tempting. Still, as time marched forward, it waned.

This was the last gasp of something. Our job is to find out what.

Experiment 9125-19

Date: 02/01/2014 - 08/01/2014
Object: SCP-9125
Presiding: Dr. J. Aberlin

Aim: To ascertain whether ritual behaviors related to the maddening influence of sub-baseline Hume coefficients on the human mind are in fact attributable to SCP-9125.

Preamble: Given the known facts that prolonged exposure to low-reality has a deleterious effect on sanity and that SCP-9125 is a construct of extremely sparse ontology, it may be expected that humans occupying regions of lower reality will be more susceptible to incursion of SCP-9125 into their minds, and will exhibit irrational ritual behaviors attributable to SCP-9125 at a higher rate than normal as the mind weakens from exposure to a low-Hume environ.

Hypothesis: Ritual behaviors emergent from insanity induced by low-reality environs will show clear indications of SCP-9125 influence.

Documentation of Procedure: Sixty D-Class personnel were randomly assigned to one of four experimental groups of fifteen. Each group was reassigned to new living quarters, to live there for a period of six months:

  • Group A was the control. No modifications were made to the average Hume coefficient of the living quarters for group A.
  • The living quarters of Group B were outfitted with a low-grade Scranton Reality Anchor passively decreasing their ambient environmental Hume coefficient to approx. Kξ-5.
  • The living quarters of Group C were outfitted with a low-grade Scranton Reality Anchor passively decreasing their ambient environmental Hume coefficient to approx. Kξ-10.
  • The living quarters of Group D were outfitted with a low-grade Scranton Reality Anchor passively decreasing their ambient environmental Hume coefficient to approx. Kξ-15.

A psychometric brain scan of each D-Class subject was taken at the end of each week of the experimental period, and passed to Site-125's Ideatics Lab for analysis. After the end of the experiment, anomalous influences on cognition noted as persistent by the team were imaged and replicated via Genevieve-Elber Concept Essential Reconstruction Sequence (GECERS), then compared in function to an approximation of SCP-9125 developed by the same method, yielding an Ideatic Similarity Score from 0 to 1.

Observations: The following on each experimental group:

  • Group A, taken in aggregate, suffered no psychological or behavioral abnormalities beyond the norm.
  • Group B were recorded during their routine psychological evaluations, conducted by psychiatrists unaware of the experiment, to exhibit slightly higher levels of paranoia and neuroticism in their behavior for the duration of the experiment.
  • Group C were observed, on average, to have acquired a number of obsessive and ritual behaviors throughout the duration of the experiment.
  • Group D demonstrated the results of Group C, though to a slightly more extreme degree on average. By the end of the experimental trial, this group had in total amassed two (2) suicides, one (1) amnestic addiction, and one (1) addiction to illicit psychoactive substances smuggled into Site-19 by the D-Class population.

It should be noted that all observations above are entirely consistent with the established body of knowledge regarding the effect of low-Hume environment exposure on sanity. They were therefore to be anticipated — however, the degree of ideatic similarity between the experimental groups' emergent anomalous psychologies and SCP-9125 does provide us with novel explanatory detail.

The Ideatic Similarity Score (ISS) of the epistemoplex derived from Group A's aggregate parapsychology and the simulated model of SCP-9125 was 0.0421. The ISS of Group B's aggregate parapsychology and SCP-9125 was 0.0915. The ISS of Group C's aggregate parapsychology and SCP-9125 was 0.1240. The ISS of Group D's aggregate parapsychology and SCP-9125 was 0.1994.

Analysis and Conclusion: Hypothesis appears largely validated. Awaiting further tests.

Researcher's Note:

Submitted an authorization request for repeat trials to further ensure a causal link. Filed all the appropriate paperwork to request more D-Class with Nineteen's HR this morning. In the meantime, will pass the experimental procedure to my colleagues for further review of possible confounding factors.

SCP-9125-58-D refers to a broad spectrum of burial and necromantic practices belonging to neolithic and chalcolithic cultures predominantly in the modern-day Levant and Turkey which Foundation para-theological experts understand to represent SCP-9125-spawned ritual behavior. Practices involved a variety of apparently irrational and counterproductive rituals relating to the disposal and use of dead bodies which indicate the perverse influence of non-standard logical and epistemic frameworks described in such research papers as those by Prof. S. Harris (1994) and Dr. I. Gat (1998) as "Dionysian", "sub-real", and sharing an origin with other deviant occult rituals and practices associated with SCP-9125.

Project head Xiomara Tela has appended the following researcher's note:

Primarily of note is that, prior to approximately 9,000 BCE, there are almost no instances in the archaeological record of grave sites as distinct locations: that is, of the existence of allocated burial areas set apart from the rest of a human settlement. Instead, burials seem sporadically dispersed throughout archaeological sites, almost as if the disposal of dead bodies was not a matter of particular organized concern. In many contemporary cultures we've even uncovered human skeletal remains ornately decorated. Skulls, for instance: painted, we can detect by the trace amounts of ochre and other pigments; encrusted with sea shells and modified with molded clay and plaster to give the appearance of abnormal features. These remains harbor a faint ectoplasmic signature to this day — a clear sign they were used for communication with the deceased.

This is pronounced in Jericho and the other Natufian sites, and most of all in neolithic Anatolia, where such practices apparently persisted through the 7th and 6th millennia. At Çatalhöyük, for instance, we noted that deceased members of one's family are buried directly in pits directly beneath the floor of their home. There are plastered and painted skulls there, as well as at Ayn Ghazal — a Jordanian site inhabited during the height of the tumultuous transition to settled agriculture, inhabited likely by post-Natufian people with some probable Anatolian descent also — and Nab Balikh, an even older Syrian site associated with an anomalous culture group about which little is known. The conclusion, it would seem, is that whoever these cultures were, they did not make the same sort of meaningful distinction between the worlds of the living and the dead which we do.

Whatever the nature of these unorthodox necromantic practices, the archaeological record indicates that they did not last long after the transition from hunting and gathering to settled agriculture was completed. This intermittent, transitory period of a few millennia in the neolithic Near-East are, in fact, the only time in human history or prehistory we have found such anomalous practices coexist with permanently-settled societies. They were, so far as we know, the very last cultures in human history to practice an agnostic religion at such scale, for after them, all the cults of madness would be reduced to just that — cults. In time they would wither out, and cultures with more nebulous life-death distinctions would be replaced by those with defined ones as their primeval political and occult organizations were similarly outcompeted by the emergence of almighty God-Kings. In Mesopotamia, Irkalla crystallized slowly into a world more and more distinguished from that of the living. Later in Greece we also see the emergence of organized, discrete burial grounds separated from the rest of the city. And of course, the highly complex and sophisticated Akiva infrastructure of ancient Egypt's afterlife system, an almost scientific affair with formalized and meticulously-documented spells and rites and deities, is famous beyond the need for introduction.

It was a blurry time, intermittent and transformative, long and fleeting all at once. And I suspect that isn't just the sense we get from the archaeological record, but how it felt to live in the period too. Because, for a brief time at the dawn of urban life in the ancient Middle-East, routinely the dead walked among the living. Such was the norm until, apparently, the contradictions between primeval ritual and civilized life mounted at last — and agnosticism lost the battle.

One thing bothers me, though. These are among the highest rates of communication with ancestral spirits for which I have ever seen evidence in any anomalous material culture…

What did the dead know that the living needed to remember?

HYPERLOGIC Protocol Deployment Summary

Semiotics Division

Laboratory of Ideatic Studies, Site-125

IN SUMMARY: It is our understanding that SCP-9125 represents an alien semioplex originating from extraordinarily low-reality whose associated concepts are so violently incompatible with the normative mode of human epistemological reasoning that they bend cognition to their own terms. Where similar ideatic complexes usually bear multidimensional fractal topology, conceptual research by Site-125's HYPERLOGIC Protocol reveals the configuration of SCP-9125 is befittingly sparse for its local ontology, occupying somewhere between 0.7 and 0.46 conceivable (real or imaginary) spatial dimensions.

So far as we understand, none of the figures in Theta Prime are descriptive of SCP-9125's topology. If true, this would also be highly unusual among complex epistememes. The volatile and conceptually corrosive effects of such mathematical expressions make the validity of this claim difficult to certianly ascertain without a much more intensive regimen of mnestic research than is currently feasible, however.

Inert Theta-Prime visualization, yielding only a dead zone.

Given the information thereby presented about the conceptualization of SCP-9125, we come to the conclusion that HYPERLOGIC alone is not sufficient to study the phenomenon. Mnestics are likewise, on their own, insufficient: no matter how well a dedicated ideatics team insulates themselves against abstraction and vaguifying effects, they will fail to comprehend an encounter with SCP-9125 by virtue of the fact that their mind is programmed with the conventional — i.e. "gnostic", or normatively rational — mode of human logic. This is a problem of our conceptual framework being mutually exclusive with the one required to understand the ideoplex.

If the normal semiotic process is definitionally insufficient to comprehend SCP-9125, we are subsequently forced to the following conclusion: despite its impact on epistemic cognition in human subjects, SCP-9125 does not (and cannot) actually inhabit the semiosphere.

At this point in the analysis, the only remaining solution for direct interface with SCP-9125 would be to invert the direction of human semiosis in such a fashion that we no longer use the semiosphere to perceive or draw recognizable concepts from phenomenal experience, and instead employ a plane of existence compatible with SCP-9125. We are speaking of a drug which would wholly and fundamentally invert the gnostic mode of epistemology by hijacking and overriding the normal semiotic function of the epiphysis cerebri (which usually connects the brain to a higher ontology, in the semiosphere) to point instead toward a lower ontology.

Though its existence is theoretically precedented, the development of such a drug exceeds the capabilities of Site-125's ideatic studies program.

Unorthodox figure at Tassili n'Ajjer, Algeria.

SCP-9125-378-D is a collection of shamanistic practices defined by pre-religious states of consciousness and nonreal modes of thought — spanning from the mid-late paleolithic period until well into later periods depending on region — which Foundation anthropological, para-theological, and Humetric experts concur represent the profound agnostic influence of SCP-9125 on cognition.

Project head Xiomara Tela has appended the following researcher's note:

When any anomalous archaeologist looks at the Green Sahara Petroglyphs, the first peculiarity they typically note is the apparent psychedelic imagery. Even at Tassili n'Ajjer, one of the more recent sites, or so we believe, we see the alien figures with their insect heads and antlers of light, bodies covered in pulsing zig-zag patterns; protrusions suspiciously resembling magic mushrooms famously seen bursting from the luminescent carapace of at least one such shamanistic angel have birthed entire anthropological theories concerning the use of psilocybin in early human mysticism and how it may have altered our species' neurological development. The comparison to DMT elves speaks for itself. And need I remind, this is one of the petroglyph sites depicting among the least verified anomalous activity; one of the ones the Foundation doesn't fully hide from the public.

Well, of course the Mushroom Man didn't just visit Tassili. On this side of the Veil, we see his likeness plastered on the cave walls and cliff faces from Kosti and Tandaiti to Bon Lanuar. Because before the desert winds swept over those rolling green plains in the African cradle, the aurochs roamed them, and buried in their dung our great-grandfather shamans found something truly magical growing. It was the gateway drug to SCP-9125; the lubricant to agnostic thinking, to the wrathful loving embrace of that primordial boiling sea of illogic which meddled in our minds long before the day the first rational man noted gravity as the fruits fell from the trees or the laws of mathematics as one and one made two. Because, of course, in the days of SCP-9125, they didn't always.

But there is another side to this story: in the more anomalous sites, Mushroom Man is not the only figure. He has a brother, another hulking, monstrous silhouette: esoteric anthropologist C. J. Elbin, the first to investigate these murals at length, dubbed in him the "Warlord". True to his name, we see this figure leading rapacious invading armies, all slaughter in his wake: where the petroglyphs show Mushroom Man giving gifts to the shamans, they show the Warlord engaged in battle with them. A whole primeval war is documented between the shamans and the forces of the Warlord, who scholars have identified with a number of contradictory invaders and migrating groups which settled the Green Sahara over the thousands of years for which his image is portrayed in the petroglyphs and may have battled the shamanic cultures. Perhaps, given that the strife seemed omnipresent to the Green Sahara cultures, appearing continually in their art even during times where no material evidence of conflict exists, it could even be the case that this war was not always a physical one.

Perhaps something was happening to the way that they thought.

SCP-9125 Function Research Contd.

Semiotics Division

Laboratory of Ideatic Studies, Site-125

The Foundation possesses internal research contractors specializing in atypical logic, their existence ordinarily reserved to need-to-know clearance, stationed at extradimensional black Sites isolated from the rest of the organization. On the 11th, Dir. Elber received authorization to disclose this fact to the HYPERLOGIC team.

Failing all other options, Site-125 requested that the Office of Humetrics at Site-19 attempt an outreach to such specialists via the Office’s Humetric transit array, and extend to them the Ideatics Lab’s request for a special ontological consultant to aid on the matter of SCP-9125.

Humetrics Command did so, and forwarded the response to Site-125.

They refused.

Remember that I said Tassili was a relatively recent site? It was an understatement.

Petroglyphs with these same psychedelic figures stretch back deep into the paleolithic. Not just the paleolithic period known to non-anomalous archaeology, but both paleolithics: the stone ages before and after the Flood. As we go back before the waters recede and the dates on the petroglyphs stretch back prior to some 12,000 BCE, we find the shamanistic traditions of psychedelic use and practice of ritual based in agnostic logic in lieu of traditional Akiva-based religion continues, somehow, relatively uninterrupted on the other side of the Great Restructuring. The continuity of this primeval pre-religion keeps hold in the archaeological record prior to 22,000 thousand years ago, continues deeper into the past: to the times before any Daeva walked the Earth; to the latter days of the Naacals; to the times when Atlantis was little more than a mud hut on a hill at U'dal, and still it continues. It isn't just in northern Africa: it's geographically scattered almost everywhere.

So archaeologists look deeper, and deeper still. Beneath strata tens and tens of thousands of years old, beneath the lost history of major CK-class event after major CK-class event, the Mushroom Man remains always somewhere, no matter how faintly seen or felt. Always there to greet you. Then, as we go further back still, and approach the halfway point of the Centamillennial, he stays as even the antediluvian civilizations revert to their stone-age origins, and hunter-gatherers become the global norm again.

And then you get to fifty, sixty, seventy thousand years ago. It continues. We're talking about spans of time over which the preservation and continued practice of a single cultural or religious tradition is essentially impossible. And then, one day, they don't need the mushrooms anymore. You see the psychedelic imagery is no longer present at those very ancient sites, but the agnostic logic, the non-real epistemics, the dizzying surreality of the whole religious experience stays just the same. You go so far back, that past a point some seventy-eight-thousand years deep in the dubious past, the human mind had been so totally animal that we had not yet the need of those five dry grams of Psilocybe cubensis to make covenant with the savage, headless angels of our nature; indeed for the shamans to see them fluttering vacantly about in every inch of the world. All the dancing shroom-studded figures go away now, that is, except for one: the Warlord. And his earliest depictions scream catastrophe, above all else.

This very blurry date marks the end of the utter dark age of SCP-9125; the point of return before which its power was at the gloomy zenith, the unholy influence of that anomalous idea bathing our minds so fully in madness that it comprised essentially our species' default mental state. For God only knows how many dark eons between the Day of Flowers and our first foirées back into the flames of Prometheus, perhaps a span of time hundreds or thousands of times longer than all of known human history combined, mankind was alone in the dark with only our most perverse and ecstatic predilections. Scientific thinking was more an unreachable delusion then than ever.

Two hundred and fifty thousand years, the Administrator said, but only a tiny fraction in anything but the most abject barbarism. In a twisted sort of way, even as revelations in antediluvian history have driven his precise estimations into ridicule, I fear the apocryphal man knew not how correct he was. It leaves just one monumental question to answer: what happened 78,000 years ago that ended the long night and moved us on the path to enlightenment? Why, then, did we slowly begin to need drugs for the influence of SCP-9125 to overcome our minds? Why did the Warlord first visit us in epic primordial rapture, and the Mushroom Man retreat into our shamanist rituals?

Why, in 76,000 BCE, does psychometric dating of the archaeological record reveal that the epiphysis cerebri began to calcify for the first time ever in man's long prehistory?

Supplementary Containment Practices: The Foundation is presently experimenting with inverted containment protocols at Site-125 to derive human nature in isolation from SCP-9125. Inverted containment is an esoteric containment science: its general postulate is to assume that the contained entity, in this case SCP-9125, is present everywhere in the universe except for those places which have been specifically purged of its influence.

Unit S125-004-4923 is one such place — the only so far built. An experimental containment chamber constructed with the aid of foreign-ontology informant material introduced extratemporally from a previously unknown Exclusionary Site, S125-004-4923 is of a hostile conceptual architecture which renders its interior void of SCP-9125. Theoretically, this means that whomever sets foot in the containment unit and undergoes the appropriate amnestic regimen to expunge all short-term memory which may harbor trace amounts of SCP-9125 should become the only human being on Earth to be free of the mental influence of SCP-9125, and therefore the only not to suffer its associated ritual compulsions and general corruptions of the human mind.

DATE: 19 January 2020; 11:55 AM

FOREWORD: The following sequence of events was transcribed from security camera footage using time stamps.

[BEGIN LOG.]

0:26 HOURS FROM ENTRY: Having completed the amnestic inoculation, D-25597 is instructed to proceed forward. The internal airlock connecting the antechamber lobby to the interior of S125-004-4923 is opened. He walks in.

0:26 HOURS: D-25597 walks past the table in the center of the room, ignoring the handbook of assigned cognitive tests lying there.

0:26-0:28 HOURS: D-25597 appears to walk vacantly around the interior of S125-004-4923 for approximately two minutes, occasionally stopping to grasp his head with one or both hands as if it were in pain.

0:28 HOURS: Lab control requests contacting D-25597 to obtain an explanation for the abnormal behavior. Supervising researcher vetoes the proposal, rejecting a premature extraction from S125-004-4923 and citing that verbal communication from the outside world into the chamber would break the conceptual seal.

0:29 HOURS: D-25597 locates the chalkboard on the northern wall and walks toward it.

0:29 HOURS: D-25597 picks up a piece of white chalk and begins to drag it against the chalkboard.

0:29-59:51 HOURS: D-25597 draws concentric spiral patterns of increasing complexity, covering the entire chalkboard several times over, for over fifty-nine (59) uninterrupted hours before collapsing of exhaustion.

[END LOG.]

Special Containment Procedures: Traditional containment of SCP-9125 is a physical impossibility. Fortunately, it is not necessary to do so, and in fact mostly to the benefit of mankind that SCP-9125 remains uncontained: were it not to inform the character of the human mind, the rate of extremely dangerous and overtly anomalous behaviors regularly perpetrated by mankind would immediately increase manifold.

The civilian population knows not of SCP-9125 and presumes its effects to be the innate product of human nature. As such, an active attempt to suppress the object's anomalous influence is neither necessary nor possible.

Ensuring the continued influence of SCP-9125 is an Alpha Level containment priority.

Description: SCP-9125 is the root of human reason.

Specifically, SCP-9125 is the event, phenomenon, or entity which installed the standard gnostic (i.e. rational) framework as the default epistemic framework for human logic, displacing the agnostic frameworks which predominated intermittently at various points in deep human and protohuman prehistory.

Such primeval systems of (il)logic are poorly understood. Similarly obscure to our knowledge is their period of dominance as mankind's primary frameworks for epistemic processing, except for the fact that the onset of SCP-9125 brought this epoch to an end in the overwhelming majority of settled agricultural societies. SCP-9125 is believed to be reducible to a single event which transpired in the 77th or 76th millennium BCE, however its noetic onset was far more gradual and took effect at different times in different cultures and geographic regions.

SCP-9125’s influence is solidified in individual humans primarily through the gradual calcification of the pineal gland (epiphysis cerebri) with age. This process ensures the epiphysis cerebri forms a lasting connection with the semiosphere, restraining the brain's possible range of information intake to the signs therein and so establishing a baseline framework for extracting empirically-understood truth from phenomenal experience. Any global downturn in the rate of pineal gland calcification is considered the possible beginning of a ⌘K-Class "End of Reason" Scenario.

No source currently known to the Foundation indicates the fashion in which SCP-9125 came to exist, and only the sparsest archaeological evidence may tell what human existence resembled prior to it. All religious and cultural practices associated with the agnostic mode of thought are considered lost, and further inquiry into such practices is discouraged on the grounds that it may lead to the contamination of the present by primeval cognitive anomalies.

As of 14 April 2020, the Semiotics Division has closed all further inquiry into SCP-9125 and shifted resources toward preventative measures for a possible ⌘K-Class event.
